Digitalization in Social Work: How Tafel.app Shapes the Future of Food Banks

π
Tafel.app Pilot Project
Digitalization of social work with heart and mind
With nationwide deployment, over 300,000 hours of volunteer work could be saved annually through intelligent digitalization β without losing the human component. Digitalization doesnβt stop at any sector β not even social work.
A particularly promising example of this is Tafel.app, an innovative platform we developed at WebPX for Motus UG. This solution aims to show how technology and humanity can work hand in hand and has the potential to revolutionize the work of food banks in Germany.π We are currently working to start a pilot project with Tafel Deutschland to demonstrate the real impact in practice.
The Challenges of Analog Food Bank Work
Traditional food bank work faces enormous challenges that can be solved through intelligent digitalization. Our analysis reveals four main problem areas:
Traditional Challenges
Time-consuming Customer Management
Paper-based systems are inefficient
Confusing Appointment Scheduling
Queues and chaos during distribution
Resource Waste
Over 7.5 tons of waste annually just for ID cards
High Personnel Effort
Volunteers spend too much time on administration
